Fun & Festive: Things To Do At Liberty This Season

Chocolate tastings, jewellery-making, a guest illustrator and more

By: Georgia Graham

From our epic Christmas Shop on the Fourth Floor, to the magnificent Wicked collaboration, there’s plenty to explore at Liberty this season. To enhance your Christmas shopping, you’re also invited to visit one of the many events and activities running throughout the festive period.

For foodies, there are chocolate and cocktail tastings, or you can make your own bubblegum-themed jewellery with TEXT HERERoxanne First. You’ll also have a chance to get personalized gifts from your favourite fragrance and jewellery brands, complete with engravings and illustrations. No booking required, just visit your chosen experience on the dates listed below.

Food & Drink Tastings

Love Cocoa

Did you know that Love Cocoa was created by the Cadbury founder’s great great great grandson? In the 200 years since John Cadbury set up his iconic purple empire, the commercial chocolate industry has unfortunately picked up some bad habits. “Our mission is to make chocolate consumption more sustainable,” says James. Love Cocoa’s initiatives include combating deforestation and pledging 1% of sales to the environment. He also has the family gift for making incredibly delicious chocolate - which you can taste in-store on 12th December.

12th December, 2-5pm
Food Hall on Ground Floor

Charbonnel et Walker

Despite its French name, Charbonnel et Walker is another quintessential British chocolate brand which goes back almost as far as Cadbury. The brand was established in 1875 by Madame Charbonnel and Mrs Walker. The French Mme Charbonnel brought her Parisian chocolatier expertise to London, whilst Mrs Walker was responsible for the artful packaging. To this day, Charbonnel et Walker remain the perfect gift - beautifully wrapped and utterly delicious. Taste some of their signature truffles in-store on 6th and 13th December.

Brixton Distillery

Liven up your Christmas party with a rum cocktail from The Brixton Distillery, a South London based small batch distillery whose award-winning ‘Market Row’ captures the unique culture and flavours of Brixton Market.

20th December, 4-7pm
Food Hall on Ground Floor

Roebuck

Swap Christmas champagne for a homegrown English sparkling wine, born and bred in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Rivalling the French original, Roebuck Estates have already won multiple awards including the Decanter World Wine Awards and Hong Kong Wine & Spirit Competition. Visit the tasting and scoop up a few bottles just before Christmas begins.

Jewellery

Make Your Own Roxanne First Jewellery

Roxanne First’s jewellery mixes serious gemstones with a playful point of view, especially in her ‘bubblegum’ collection which uses juicy resin charms and vibrant pick n mix inspired colours. And now you can make your own! Create your own personalised necklace, either for yourself or as a gift.

Engravings with Astley Clarke

Spell it out with a custom engraving on any of Astley Clarke’s locket necklaces or bracelets, the perfect gift for a loved one in your life. For a finishing touch, you can also get any image printed and fitted inside one of their lockets. Even better, the whole process only takes a few minutes.
