On Personal Fragrance: Trish McEvoy
The beauty guru shares the uplifting inspirations behind her confidence-boosting scents
Much more than a master makeup artist, Trish McEvoy’s route to inspiring self-confidence had to be holistic. For her, scent is an emotional matter – to which her perfume line rings true. Here, she muses over the magic of fragrance, woven with notes on instinctiveness, morning affirmations and hitting the right notes for joy.
I’m a big believer in the interconnectedness of scent, memory and emotion
The fragrances in my line are emotionally inspired; they’re designed to set your mood. For me, fragrance is more of a signature than an outfit – the same scent smells different on you than it does on me, because our body chemistries are unique. That’s the power of fragrance: it’s our invisible wardrobe.
I love musk because it’s such a complex note, and to do it right is very complicated. When it’s right, it’s alluring, intoxicating, seductive, and invisibly sexy.
Everything we do – from skin care, to makeup, to fragrance – we do with beauty and wellness in mind. Fragrance evokes emotion – it’s about self-love. Inspired by the people and the world around me, from travel, to culture, to the arts, I’ve designed a fragrance for every mood.
I so believe in choosing a fragrance that matches how we’re feeling, or how we want to feel, because signature scents evolve as we do. For an instant mood boost, I spritz 100 eau de parfum. It’s a warm, sparkling, dynamic scent that sets the scene for endless possibilities. It makes me feel 100!
Each of my fragrances can be worn alone or layered together to create a custom scent
The No. 9 fragrance family is a fan favorite that’s close to my heart. With notes of juicy blackberries, warm vanilla and velvet musk, people fall in love with No. 9 because it’s both spicy and sweet. Gold 9 is its self-confident sister, and Sexy 9 is boldly seductive – a dressed-up, deepened rendition of the iconic original that’s luscious and irresistible. Together, they transport me back to the early days of building my brand, and bring me all the way through to now – a reminder to greet each new day with joy.
