Spotlighting our favourite London-based accessories brands

Shop Accessories

From local jewellers who craft every piece by hand to iconic British fashion houses, this edit is a celebration of our favourite London-based accessories brands. Discover modern heirloom jewellery, boldly printed scarves and sustainably crafted bags – all made by brands that have built homes in this eccentric, dynamic and resilient city.

1.

Alighieri

Inspired by founder Rosh Mahtani’s literary background, every piece of Alighieri jewellery corresponds to one of the 100 poems that make up the ‘Divine Comedy’ – the 14th century epic by renowned Italian poet Dante Alighieri. Each of the brand’s battered modern heirlooms is handcrafted in Hatton Garden, London from gold-plated recycled bronze or sterling silver using the traditional method of lost-wax casting.

Ferian

Founded by London-based fashion designer Leonie Branston, Ferian takes its name from the Old English for ‘to carry ’, particularly in reference to passing over water – hence its Naval flag insignia. Known for its timeless leather handbags and jewellery, the brand has recently repurposed rare vintage Wedgwood Jasperware cameos, dating from the 1950s-1980s, to create an exclusive, limited edition ring collection that’s handmade and hallmarked in London.

Anya Hindmarch

Known for her playful and unwaveringly creative designs, Anya Hindmarch was the first accessories designer to hold an on-schedule London Fashion Week show. The London-based brand also gained international recognition with the Chubby Hearts campaign – a love letter to London that saw 24 giant heart-shaped balloons suspended above the city’s landmarks. As part of an ongoing commitment to sustainability, Anya Hindmarch recently launched the I Am A Plastic Bag collection, featuring the brand’s signature bags and small accessories in an innovative cotton canvas-feel fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.

Alice Cicolini

London-based jewellery designer Alice Cicolini is a published author, a Research Associate at Central St Martins and the former Director of Arts and Culture for the British Council in India. Drawing inspiration from the sacred architecture and patterns of the Silk Route, every piece of Alice Cicolini jewellery is handmade using traditional Persian 'meenakari' enamelling techniques for a richly coloured finish. The brand has also created several one-of-a-kind pieces that are exclusive to Liberty.

Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen was an icon of British design who brought drama, extravagance and uncompromising elegance to the catwalk for nearly 20 years. After his death, longstanding collaborator Sarah Burton took over as Creative Director of the Alexander McQueen house in London. Today McQueen’s highly distinctive gothic vision still permeates the brand’s fashion and accessories collections, with nature and British history also acting as key themes for its coveted bag and scarf designs.
