It’s a very warm reception for the latest inductee to our Beauty Hall of Fame: the extraordinary new perfume inspired by an iconic archival print

What would a Liberty print smell like? That’s the question that Liberty LBTY. Fragrance – our brand new collection of artistic scents created by world renowned perfumers – hopes to answer. There are five elevated blends to fall in love with, but when it comes to one particular hero, Tudor (£225 for 100ml), it’s our Merchant print that has been translated to olfactory terms. An ornamental, woody, bohemian scent that evokes all the magic of our Tudor-inspired store.

The Rise to Fame
Fragrance is undoubtedly a natural extension to the Liberty world, our chance to translate the rich history of our heritage artworks for your scented pleasure. And who else would we rely on to bring the Liberty magic to life in such a way than the world’s top perfumers? Born dreamers, it was their task to bottle up the mood, moment and memory of a specific artwork. And they certainly delivered.

The Credentials
Tudor was conjured up by iconic perfumer Pierre Negrin, inspired by the warm, earthy tones and ikat-style geometric shapes of our Merchant print. The idea: to recreate the feeling of running your hand across a vast, richly textured tapestry hanging off the hallowed beams in our flagship store. In scent terms, that means bursts of grated ginger, nutmeg and crushed juniper berries, upon a base of deep woodland notes and resins. It’s a scent that certainly means business.
