The Artefact
In a world of lasers, needles, microneedles and syringes, Irene Forte takes a gentler approach to transformative skincare. Packed into its Hibiscus Night Cream is a veritable cornucopia of powerful ingredients, including green pea polypeptides, sweet almond oil and hyaluronic acid, inspired by and sourced from nature, promising highly researched benefits and rapid results – and there’s not a needle in sight.
The History
With its own organic farm nestled in the blissful Sicilian countryside and an ingredients list packed with the green and good: nature is the foundation for every Irene Forte creation. But, alongside their green fingers, the brand has a laser-focused love of science and innovation, meaning nothing makes its way into their formulations without extensive research and testing to ensure potent benefits for skin health.
The Innovation
Pioneered by the brand’s scientific director, Dr Francesca Ferri, the Hibiscus Night Cream is powered by a groundbreaking natural ingredient derived from hibiscus seeds: Myoxinol™.
Described as a “neuropeptide”, this clever ingredient is said to mimic the effects of anti-wrinkle injections, relaxing facial muscles and reducing wrinkles, all the while offering antioxidant protection to counteract any further signs of ageing. With their own trials showing age-defying results within 10 days – this smart compound is worthy of its own place on the skincare pedestal.
The Star Quality
As the lead for innovation and science, Dr Francesca Ferri boasts some seriously impressive credentials and is, perhaps, the secret to the success of Irene Forte’s nature/science fusion. With 35 years’ experience researching skin health, she’s changed the game researching ingredients such as resveratrol and phytomelatonin. In 2019, she was awarded Italy’s Order of Merit (the equivalent of a knighthood) for her research in the genetics behind skin ageing.
It's safe to say that if anyone knows skin health: it’s Dr Ferri. And we’ll have what she’s having.
