Now on exhibit: an incredibly clever serum that not only tempers the skin, but also calms the mind

The Artefact

A more mindful take on skincare, Neuraé Harmony The Serum is a futuristic formula designed not only to tend to the health of the skin, settling aggravation for a complexion that looks visibly calmer, but also intersect the brain-skin connection, helping to ease the mind every time you apply it.

The History

We know that when we’re tired, stressed or feeling down-trodden, it can manifest in the skin. And when we notice somewhat undesirable traits in the skin, that can, in turn, unsettle the mind. It’s what’s known as the mind-skin connection, a two-way communication that has puzzled skin scientists for some time now.

The answer? Neurocosmetics. A new, burgeoning sector of the skincare realm where products tap into this innate connection to offer both sensorial ‘brain benefits’ alongside the prerequisite skin benefits you’ve come to expect from modern day skincare.

Few brands have nailed it quite like Neuraé. Developed by Sisley Paris, it’s now known for creating impactful, rigorously tested formulas elevated by neuroscientific principles; fragrances, textures and ingredients are carefully chosen for their proven impacts to both mind and skin.

The Innovation

Perhaps the most exemplary formula in Neuraé’s line up, Harmony The Serum uses a tight edit of neuroscientific ingredients to bring balance back to the skin. Red indigo extract, eperua extract and alpine skullcap extract stimulate the production of β-endorphin, activate GABA receptors, and limit the production of CGRP (an inflammatory peptide) as well as stress hormone, cortisol – leaving skin looking and feeling calmer and more resilient.

The Star Quality

While that impressive skin science is whirring away in the background, it’s helpful to know: this serum is a literal joy to use, too. Silky in texture, quick to settle into the skin and completely non-sticky once applied, its place in our famous Beauty Hall of Fame was a total non-negotiable.
