A mainstay of any perfumers toolkit, floral notes have long been adored for their ability to bring a sense of elegance to almost any perfume. But are you ready for a new take on your favourite flowers? As Chloé makes it scented debut in our iconic Fragrance Hall with a pop-up dedicated to its Atelier des Fleurs collection, we thoroughly recommend you avert your eyes (or rather, nostrils) in the direction of Chloé Immortelle Eau de Parfum, £245 for 150ml or £125 for 50ml – a transportive fragrance that provides a fresh, surprising take on one of the most iconic and symbolic flowers out there.

The Rise to Fame
Immortelle is one of three new fragrances to join Chloé’s much coveted Atelier des Fleurs collection, each one the bottled version of an aspect of the natural world. A suite of 20 extraordinary scents, these fragrances have been developed by master perfumers, who have made it their mission to capture fresh flowers and botanicals in their truest form, each one focussed on bringing to life the beauty of a single plant.

The Credentials
Crafted by expert perfumer Caroline Dumur, Immortelle pays homage to the immortelle, or everlasting flower, the sunny yellow shrub that makes up much of the scentscape of the Mediterranean. Generous in scent and considered a symbol of eternity for millennia, it’s an extract that has long fascinated perfumers – but there’s something pretty special about this incarnation.
It blends the warm, solar notes of the immortelle flower with a bracing, salty accord. Imagine winding your way through the dunes on a sunbaked beach, sea spray whipping through your hair and you’ll be halfway to understanding its magic. It’s fresh and clean, yet feels layered and enveloping. The kind of scent you can wear year round.
Also worth noting is the fact Chloé’s Atelier des Fleurs collection was made to be layered, so while Immortelle does smell incredible alone, you can also spritz it alongside other fragrances from the collection to create a signature scent that’s truly unique to you.
