Liberty was the first to launch Votary, and we love the brand’s natural formulas just as much now as we did back then. Case in point, the newest launch: Daily Apple Toner. It contains a blend of powerful AHAs to smooth and add radiance (you’ll see a difference after only one use), but – unlike so many formulas that state this claim – it’s genuinely suitable for daily use, as its so gentle. In the box: a 30ml bottle
How to Use: Swipe over the cheeks, forehead and chin using a reusable cotton pad post-cleansing.
The Scent of Romance
Vilhelm Parfumerie is a real gem of fragrance hall; you’re bound to find a perfume you love within their wide range. What I love is that there’s always a poetic story behind each scent; this one tells the story of a heart-struck lover travelling the world in search of all the tuberose to fill the moon for his sweetheart. In real terms, it smells like passionfruit and pear, mixed with deep, comforting ambroxan. In the box: a 2ml tester.
How to Use: Spritz onto the wrists but never rub together. The friction squashes the fragrance particles and ruins the composition, so it won’t last as long.
L:A Bruket is definitely a Beauty Drop favourite, so we thought we’d introduce you to another much-loved product from the range: this hand cream. It’s natural, vegan and cruelty-free and won’t leave your hands feeling greasy or slippery. The perfect size for on the go, with an energising yet soothing citrusy, herby, wood scent. In the box: a 30ml tube.
How to use: I keep my hand cream on my bedside table; I always forget to apply it throughout the day, but this serves as a welcome reminder to apply a generous amount before bed.
The Suits-All Moisturiser
This formula is like a halfway house between a face cream and a serum, which means it’s really good for oily skin as it’s so lightweight, but also sensitive skin, as it’s totally free from fragrance and other potential irritants. While it might be light, it’s incredibly hydrating, really soothing and offers some protection against environmental aggressors. In the box: a 5ml sample.
How to use: I try to make my moisturiser application all the more satisfying but turning it into a bit of a mindful ritual, taking extra time to massage it into the skin.
The Party-Appropriate Eyeliner
Rockins Hot Mess Glitter Gel Pen
If you want a foolproof product to create a whole range of dramatic eye looks for a season of parties, this gel pen is for you. The colour you receive is a lucky dip between a green, black or blue shade but each of them are incredibly wearable and flattering. I can speak from experience when I say they last really well, and make a really versatile addition to your makeup bag.In the box: one full-sized eyeliner.
How to Use: Either apply densely all over for an abstract party look or scribble a little into the lash line and smudge it out for something more subtle.
Noble Isle’s bath and shower gels are really great bathroom staples. This one has the Summer Rising scent which truly is the scent of summer. It has notes of elderflower and orange bloom, and a hint of freshly cut grass, making it incredibly energising and invigorating: exactly what you need to wake you up in these dark mornings. Plus, the foam is incredibly rich and satisfying. In the box: a 30ml bottle.
How to Use: Either massage into the skin whilst in the shower, or pour the whole lot into the tub for an elevated and indulgent bathing experience.
The Invisible Primer
This serum feels really good under makeup, and sits nicely on the skin. It takes a little rubbing in, but it acts like a makeup magnet, keeping your foundation from sliding around during the day. It’s also a treatment, so it has added skin benefits too, using botanicals like safflower oil and apricot kernel oil to nourish and soften the skin while you wear it. It seems to form a moisture-locking film over the skin, which my complexion loves. In the box: a 5ml tube.
How to Use: Apply a light layer post-SPF and allow it a couple of minutes to sink in before following with your usual makeup routine.
