The Guide

Sunglasses to Suit Your Face Shape

Fit your frames to your face shape and find a pair that really suits you

Shop Sunglasses

Shopping for sunglasses is rarely as simple as snapping up the latest pair to hit the fashion pages; that cult sunglasses shape can fast go from game-changer to deal-breaker without careful consideration of what fits your features. Remember: the higher your cheekbones the more styles you can get away with, and don't forget your eyebrows! Some frames will cover them up so choose wisely if you prefer a strong brow on show. Follow our sunglasses guide and find the frames that will put the rest in the shade. . .

For a ROUND face

Flatter a round face shape with a squared-off sunglasses style - this is the best way to create definition in your features and offset softer lines. Whatever you do, steer clear of round frames - they'll only make your face appear wider than it is.

For an OVAL face

Lucky you – an oval-shaped face is well-suited to most frames. Go for rounded styles or a slight cat-eye to lift the cheekbones and accentuate your angles, and try to avoid anything too exaggerated as it can throw off the balance of your features.

Classic aviator suglasses are a good fit for the proportions of a heart-shaped face, as are wayfarer styles and exaggerated cat-eye silhouettes, which flatter a delicate chin by mirroring the angle of the jawline. Be wary of anything with a heavy upper frame or you run the risk of making the face seem top-heavy.

For a SQUARE face

In the same way a square frame suits a rounder face, a strong jawline is flattered by a more rounded shape. Circular glasses can help balance a square facial structure, particularly if you choose a slightly oversized style. When in doubt, approach angular frames with caution.
