The Marrakech Edit: From the Makers

Uncover Liberty’s vibrant edit inspired by Morocco’s visionary contemporary artisans.

By: Team Liberty

Liberty invites you to discover a curation of contemporary creatives crafting modern icons inspired by Moroccan design. Grounded in the skills and techniques of makers at the country’s cultural epicentre, Marrakech, an exuberant aesthetic eye celebrates a legacy of expressionist elegance: this curation of names has been selected by Liberty’s buying team to bring the modern mood of Marrakech to Liberty’s Tudor Halls and virtual shelves.

The striking architecture, dramatic, ember-hued landscapes, blue skies, sparkling seas and streets suffused with rich creative colour have long-held an allure for the artistically minded, from Yves Saint Laurent to perfumer Serge Lutens and even Madonna.

The enticing, artisanal mood continues to spark cascades of inspiration and innovation, within Marrakech itself and in those who fall for its charms. On the Fourth Floor of Liberty and online, discover a new home for the contemporary brands innovating with this legacy: a showcase for craft and design excellence, artisanal techniques and the colour, vivacity and creativity tying back to Moroccan inspirations.

Featuring a suite of names, with some showing in London for the very first time, discover an exclusively curated destination with Moroccan-made home and interiors treasures from LRNCE, including a capsule designed exclusively for Liberty, plus treasures from Arterio, Moro and more, and a Liberty Fabrics collections taking Morocco as its inspiration.

Meet the Marrakech Makers

LRNCE

Founded in 2013 by Belgian designer Laurence Leenaert, LRNCE is a Marrakech based lifestyle brand with a focus on handmade goods.

Originally specialising in leather bags, LRNCE’s range of work grew organically over the years as Laurence met with artisans and sampled new products.

Made by spontaneously combining shapes, materials, and colour, its one-of-a-kind hand-made pieces celebrate artistic design, the Moroccan community and local craftsmanship.

All of LRNCE’s goods are made by hand or have a hand-made touch. Traditional craftsmanship is rooted in the culture of Marrakech and is at the heart of the brand. It may take a bit more time, but the brand professes to enjoy the individuality of handmade products, with two items never quite the same.

MORO

At the heart of Moro lies a vision – to represent Morocco in its most beautiful light, celebrating its rich culture and timeless local crafts.

Moro seeks to honour the hands that shape it: the local artisans whose skill and passion breathe life into every detail. By showcasing their craft, Moro aims to open new horizons for these artisans, carrying their stories and artistry far beyond Morocco’s borders.

ATERIO HOME

Founded by Mona Boubekeur after a decade in London’s luxury interior design world, Aterio Home celebrates the art of the handmade. Inspired by the Greek aitherios, meaning ethereal, the name speaks to the brand’s guiding spirit: design as refined as it is timeless. Each piece is realised by master artisans using noble materials such as resin, bone, brass, mother-of-pearl, and fine woods.

Rooted in clean lines, geometric forms and Art Deco elegance, every creation balances beauty with intention. With bespoke at its core, Aterio Home creates sculptural furniture and accessories that bring individuality, warmth, and enduring elegance to interiors of distinction.

PATTERN GARDEN BY LIBERTY FABRICS

Created as part of Liberty’s Marrakech Edit, the Pattern Garden collection for Spring Summer 2026 showcases eight captivating designs inspired by the eclectic patterns and textures of Morocco.

A celebration of the archives and an ode to Morocco’s textiles, marketplaces and architecture – as well as its beautiful gardens – the designs are decorated with bright, vibrant colours and flowers and printed on our inimitable Tana Lawn™ cotton, with a refined, scaled-down selection also available on our lustrous, Codrington Silk Lurex fabric.

MOROCCAN WHITE

Established in 2015 by Andrew Mole, Moroccan White’s journey began at Portobello market in Notting Hill, driven by a deep passion for Moroccan artisan products. Using his extensive experience in Morocco, Andrew meticulously sourced the finest homewares.

Moroccan White’s mission is to provide a thoughtfully curated selection of artisanal homewares, with a focus on design and quality.

Many of the brand’s items are one-of-a-kind, and the team works with artisans to ensure that products are of an excellent quality, produced sustainably and fairly.

Find The Marrakech Edit on the Fourth Floor of our London store, with additional exclusive artisan finds and Moroccan designs.
