Whether you’ve just moved in or have lived in your home for a decade, your taste will continuously evolve. How do you scratch that itch without a major renovation project? There are a few tricks and tweaks that can add a breath of fresh air into any room. From something as simple as fresh flowers in a beautiful vase, to restyling a shelf can make a bigger difference than you’d imagine (try it). But how do you inject some soul into a bathroom? Or add ambience to the dining room? Consider this your useful guide to quick decor ideas that will update your look in every room of your home. Minimal effort required.

The Bedroom

Your bedroom is all about creating a sanctuary for sleep. It’s important to create the right atmosphere, so the easiest place to start is with your bedside lighting. This needn't be a total overhaul - try swapping out the shades on your existing bedside table lamps for a boost of colour or to cast softer, more ambient light, or even downgrading the wattage of your bulb. Of course, luxurious bedding is essential when mastering the art of dressing a bed you won’t want to get out of. With soft-to-the-touch sheets, cloud-like quilts and eye-catching designs, this is the easiest way to ease bedroom boredom. If you’re really looking to create impact, wallpaper can bring a tired space to life. Match your walls to your bedding, or paint clash to the max, Liberty-style.

The Dining Room

When setting the table, consider your linen the anchor for your decor - it's the quickest way to revive the room. Picking up co-ordinating colours in everything else on the table, from glassware to crockery and candles. In order for a dining room to feel both inviting and homely, you can take one of two routes. Natural and artificial light can make or break a room consider adding attention grabbing lamps to dark corners. Window treatments are another way to inject some life. Revamping with new blinds or custom drapes (made in Liberty fabric, of course) can pull focus in a whole new way.

The Living Room

Your living is a space for both relaxing and entertaining, the best way to achieve this is to mix personality with comfort at all levels, from dressing your sofa with cushions and throws to a switch up in your coffee table styling. When you’re curating a pillow combination, incorporating a mix of textures is a foolproof way to make sure the look doesn’t fall flat and accent with blankets that can easily be swapped out for a change in season or mood. Getting creative with a gallery wall of art and framed memories will inject life back into your living room.

The Kitchen

If you’re looking to add a little spirit to your kitchen without changing the cabinets, flooring or backsplash, there’s plenty you can do with accents. A rug is a low-risk way to bring in texture to an otherwise practical space, while warmth can also be introduced by adding cushions to seating or even a simple change of tea towels can make a big impact. Create instant storage and endless decor opportunities with open shelving, switching out plain jars and making a display of your best mugs and glassware. The addition of food-centric artwork will bring joy to your walls and provide dinner party talking points.

The Bathroom

How can you beautify a bathroom without a full remodel? It’s an age-old dilemma, but luckily a problem easily solved with the addition of a few well placed accessories. For instance, using trinket pots to hide away cotton pads and upgrading your toothbrush pot to a murano glass tumbler will make a stylish feature out of a functional item. If your vanity space is minimal, bathroom shelving works wonders for both extra storage and decor - providing a space for candles and diffusers that will help set the scene for relaxation. Refresh your overall look with new towels, or add hooks to hang a fluffy robe to amplify the bathroom’s style stakes.
