While we’re well aware it’s only September, it’s been a busy week for our Liberty Elves over at Christmas HQ, aka our Regent Street store. With the Christmas Shop taking over our fourth floor – packed with decorations, gifts and brand-new baubles (there’s even a vintage sewing machine one) – and our fabrics design team hard at work to bring you our Festive Collection. For this year’s Christmas Crafters, we bring you nine new fabrics bursting with a sense of celebration for the most wonderful time of the year. Come peek behind the curtain and soak up the inspiration behind the collection.
Inspired by atmospheric winter nights, filled with twinkling stars and romantic constellations, our in-house design studio has reimagined the night’s sky to sit amongst ditsy florals and painterly backdrops for Christmas 2023. Take Aurora Sky, featured in three dazzling colourways inspired by the spirit of adventure. This ethereal print inspires a journey through starry skies, hand-painted animals, maps (dug out from our Liberty archive) and the colourful swirls of aurora borealis. And then you meet Emma Etoile, a classic Liberty floral that has been decorated with a smattering of metallic stars to twinkle together in the spirit of celebration. Speaking of which, Helen’s Starry Sky is the ultimate mark of festive joy. The delicate hand painted blooms emerge from the sky like tiny fireworks to create a magical starry canvas filled with tiny celestial motifs and bright pops of colour. All expertly printed on our organic Tana Lawn™ cotton, making the perfect backdrop to your Christmas crafts, whether you’re making handmade decorations, DIY fabric gift wrapping or something special to gift a loved one.
