Easter may be shaping up differently this year, but there’s still every reason to pull together a celebratory spread. The Easter table should have a nostalgic quality, reminiscent of the days when you would find a chocolate egg in place of your golden yolk! I love mixing in family traditions and ensuring everyone has their own personal egg cup; whether it’s a playful animal from Quai,l or something chic from Astier de Villatte.
Layering is essential in creating that breath of fresh air; starting with a tablecloth that sets the tone for the spring feast. Ideally it’s a versatile option that can form the base of a colourful and spirited table. It’s not a time to be precious about matching, you should express your personality, celebrate the end of winter and lay a spread for your loved ones.
Seasonal flowers lift the whole aesthetic and bring joy and a sense of freshness that Spring is all about, the brightness of tulips and other spring bulbs contrasts against a pastel palette; and really, can you beat a daffodil trumpet matching your boiled egg?
