Editor's Notes

Liberty’s square velvet cushion is crafted in England from rich velvet with a plump duck feather filling, its kaleidoscopic Ianthe placement design printed by experts in Italy.

The large square velvet cushion features Ianthe – arguably Liberty’s most iconic Art Nouveau design, Ianthe was originally created as a wallpaper layout by French artist R. Beauclair around 1902. It appears here in a beautifully engineered placement that can be displayed with either side facing up. Throw the cushion on a daybed or armchair, for an archive-inflected approach to modern interior styling.
