Editor's Notes

Designed to accompany the exhibition Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur at the Wallace Collection, the Portrait trinket box is an iconic, idiosyncratic addition to your dressing table.

The intricate design of this box is inspired by the artwork The Great Beauty, 2024. The original piece is a cabinet heavily decorated with ceramic female portraiture, created in celebration of friendship and in response to the abundant furniture and miniatures housed in the Wallace Collection. The monochrome design on the trinket box features one of the beautifully detailed portraits from the cabinet on the lid and a motif extracted from the portrait’s background charmingly rendered along its side, with lustre rims to finish.
