Editor's Notes

Designed to accompany the exhibition Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur at the Wallace Collection, the Portrait decorative plate is an iconic, idiosyncratic addition to a cabinet or gallery wall.

The intricate design of this plate is inspired by the artwork The Great Beauty, 2024. The original piece is a cabinet heavily decorated with ceramic female portraiture, created in celebration of friendship and in response to the abundant furniture and miniatures housed in the Wallace Collection. Each plate highlights a hand-picked, beautifully detailed, portrait from the cabinet in monochrome.
