Considered the world’s oldest pharmacy, Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella sets its roots back to 1221. Founded by a group of Dominican friars in Florence, the convent of Santa Maria Novella began to cultivate a botanical garden, obtaining high-quality natural ingredients for medicines, ointments and balms.
