Designed to celebrate our 150th Anniversary, Liberty unveils The Liberty Short Tartan Kilt - a commanding centrepiece from the exclusive Liberty Velvet HYPERNOVA 150 collection by creative director Frida Giannini.
A defining piece of the collection and a tribute to British craft, this kilt by Frida Giannini showcases a bespoke tartan woven in Liberty’s iconic purple. Crafted from pure virgin wool in Scotland and constructed locally, the design is officially registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans, cementing its legacy. Cut in a short, A-line silhouette, the skirt is finished with buckled leather side straps for a timeless, authentic touch.
The Liberty HYPERNOVA 150 collection is built on three pillars: Legacy, honouring Liberty’s historic artistry and iconic status in British culture; Rebel, capturing the countercultural spirit of Carnaby Street with bold, fearless design; and Mastery, showcasing uncompromising craftsmanship through bespoke detailing and Italian luxury. Together, these values define a collection that celebrates Liberty’s past while igniting its creative future for the next 150 years.
