Marquess Garden Chesham Sateen in Lapis
The Modern Archive Collection spotlights Liberty’s rich history of storytelling for every generation of modern interiors – the crisp blues and whites of the Lapis colour story are inspired by the fashionable Dutch and Persian porcelain of the late 19th century.
Marquess Garden is inspired by an intricate floral shawl design from the Liberty archive, dating from 1977 in a heavily patterned Arts and Crafts revival style. It is expertly printed in Italy onto our Chesham sateen – a beautiful pure-cotton base with an excellent drape and soft sheen. The tight flat weave of this sateen showcases colour and print detail with the very best clarity. It is well-suited for light domestic upholstery, as well as being a great option for drapery and window dressings to create maximum light and brightness.

The Modern Archive Collection from Liberty Fabrics Interiors celebrates the brand’s long-standing legacy as the home of design. The collection’s six colour stories pay homage to the passions of the collector and the beautiful objects that have long been curated within Liberty’s wood-panelled walls. Pewter, Lapis, Lichen, Lacquer, Jade and Dragonfly tell the story of the emporium through the ages, uniting a diverse archive of hand-drawn designs. Each one has been reinterpreted and reimagined for the next generation of Liberty furnishing fabrics.
