Inspired by the expressive brushwork, collage and watercolours synonymous with Liberty Fabrics, the Atelier Georgette collection brings a series of hand-drawn artwork to life in a palette of rich and soft colours. Defined by intricate florals and roses, forget-me-nots, lilacs, bellflowers and tulips set against trailing stems and luscious foliage weaving through leafy sprigs, each artwork is consciously chosen to highlight the flowing nature of the fabric – our new Chelsea Georgette is a beautifully light cloth with an effortless drape that’s perfect for both everyday apparel and special occasions.
Texture brings fluidity and movement to this small-scale floral design. A scrunched tissue-paper ground sets an irregular, tactile base, over which simple stamped rose motifs are layered. Created through a combination of collage and stamping techniques, the print has a distinctly hands-on quality, with each element contributing to a sense of depth and spontaneity.
