The new season of covetable Liberty sleepwear features some of our most iconic Classics designs – from delicate ditsy florals to bold paisleys, these favourite archival prints have been worn and loved across the generations. Designed by our in-house team and printed on signature Tana Lawn™ cotton, the Classics sleep collection is tailor-made for gifting.
Betsy is a small stylised floral created in 1933 by the mysterious designer D.S., who also produced many of our other favourite Tana designs. A quintessential Liberty ditsy print, Betsy has been worn and loved by many generations of our customers.
Silverwood is a meandering trail of branches formed into fluid ogee shapes, surrounded by a landscape of mountains with deer, flowers and birds. The original artwork for this floral conversational print was created by Liberty designers in 1931.
Originally printed on scarves, Christelle is based on the early Indian chintzes that were first brought to Europe in the 17th century. The ornamental design was put into a repeat to join Liberty Fabrics in 1995, and was rediscovered in 2017 for womenswear and sleep.
Felix and Isabelle is a large and intricately detailed paisley pattern, derived from an archival Liberty shawl drawing that dates from the 1850s. It was redrawn into an all-over repeat for the Autumn/Winter 2011 season, and since then has been one of our most iconic paisleys – appearing across accessories, interiors, and men’s and womenswear.
Poppy and Daisy is a fine-lined and meadowy layout, which has been part of the Liberty archive since the 1910s. An archetypal Liberty floral, it would have originally been a wood block print – we still have the paper impression from Liberty’s Merton Print Works in our collection.
A design of hand-painted botanical flowers nestled among lush green foliage, Rachel is inspired by a Liberty furnishing fabric called Sedgemere. It was originally designed in 1988.
