Editor's Notes

Designed to accompany the exhibition Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur at the Wallace Collection, the Portrait mug is an iconic, idiosyncratic addition to your breakfast table.

The intricate design of this mug is inspired by the artwork The Great Beauty, 2024. The original piece is a cabinet heavily decorated with ceramic female portraiture, created in celebration of friendship and in response to the abundant furniture and miniatures housed in the Wallace Collection. The decoration on the mug highlights four of these beautifully detailed portraits in monochrome, with a lustre rim and handle for a delicate finish.
