Editor's Notes

Reworking the classic Balmacaan silhouette, the Balfield Reversible Coat from Mackintosh offers two distinctive looks with its checked face and plain reverse.

Cut to a relaxed silhouette, this reversible design pairs a traditional bal collar and two-piece raglan sleeves with a modern, three-dimensional construction. The high-density Merino wool twill lends the coat a crisp, substantial handle.

About Mackintosh
Mackintosh’s iconic raincoats are steeped in the British heritage label’s unrivalled blend of outdoor expertise, fabric innovation and technical craftsmanship. It was 1823 when Charles Mackintosh created the world’s first waterproof fabric – known as ‘Mackintosh cloth’ – and the company has been an international standard-bearer for quality coat-making ever since. Mackintosh’s signature rubberised fabric is a tribute to the very best of British manufacturing: a team of skilled craftsmen fuse traditional techniques dating back to the 19th century with modern technology to create a bonded, hard-wearing cloth that protects against the elements and stands the test of time. Look to this range of coats to bring a modern, sophisticated edge rooted in technical excellence to your wardrobe this season and long beyond.
