Liberty Interiors
Mala Vintage Velvet
COLLECTION
For the collection A Palace Garden, the Liberty Fabrics design team drew inspiration from the decadent glamour of Eltham Palace. A show-stopping confection of perfectly-preserved 1930s design nestled away in South East London, Eltham Palace is characterised by its harmonious blend of Art Deco interiors, medieval architecture and detailed Greco-Roman flourishes. A Palace Garden encapsulates its eccentric English namesake’s sense of traditional symbolism and Modernist style – expect prints brimming with vivid colour, rhythm and vibrancy.

Liberty Fabrics’ Mala Vintage Velvet furnishing fabric is an opulent option for upholstery, drapery or soft accessories.
Liberty London has always been dedicated to interiors – for our Pavilion Ball collection the in-house design team looked to Brighton’s magnificent Royal Pavilion, which Liberty was once commissioned to decorate for a visiting Maharaja back in the 19th century. Mala was inspired by a paisley floral design called Kandahar, first created in 1968 and printed at Liberty’s Merton print works, then revived in the late-‘70s for a furnishing fabric collection. This velvet furnishing fabric makes a luxe enlivener for your living space – use it to create everything from curtains to throw cushions, or as an upholstery fabric for an old favourite furniture piece that’s in need of a little love.
