Slow Dance captures the rites-of-passage moment for girls and boys before they metamorphose into women and men. A blend of bitter and sweet notes illustrates feelings of exhilaration tempered by awkwardness, masculinity and femininity, innocence and experience. A rich and intoxicating distillation of opopanax, geranium, labdanum, violet, patchouli and vanilla manifests as warm skin and breathlessness – rising above individual clichés to an emotional state that is familiar across all countries, cultures and periods of time.
