Led by punk-ish pioneer Rei Kawakubo, Comme des Garçons (meaning ‘like boys’) is a fashion brand eternally in search of the new, the peculiar and the meaningful. Since launching in Japan in the 70s and Paris in the 80s, the brand has been a continually influential force in the world of fashion, pursuing a sort of distressed luxury aesthetic. In 1994, the unconventional label first delved into fragrance, creating an avant-garde eau de parfum that completely eschewed the classic pyramid structure of notes. Since then, Comme des Garçons has created a beguiling and critically acclaimed range of perfumes.
