Shop Dresses

Finally, summer is on the horizon. The freedom to bare legs and plan picnics means it’s dress season and our favourite designers are ready and waiting. A treasure trove of summer dresses awaits; classic designs reinvented, theatrical pieces fresh from the runway and adaptable, airy silhouettes to replace the trackpants and jeans we’ve all been living in.

The New Shirt-Dress

The SS21 collections elevated the humble shirt-dress to new lustworthy heights. Enföld put its avant-garde, Japanese twist on this staple with high-volume frills and off-kilter layered finishes. Pretty prints come courtesy of Ganni and Isabel Marant Étoile, whilst Palmer//Harding and Lemaire remain the go-tos for subtly sculptural tailoring.

The Mini

The mini-dress turns ladylike with Victoriana detailing – expect chaste raised collars and ruffles everywhere. The Vampire’s Wife updates its iconic frilled-hem silhouette in a thigh-high length, whilst Ganni provides all the high-volume shapes and vivacious prints you could need.

The Centre of Attention

There’s no better time than summer to try a statement print - where better than on a warm weather dress that shows off sun-kissed skin? With painterly florals and zebra stripes, Stine Goya’s spirited use of colour shows no sign of abating for SS21. You can always rely on Bernadette and LaDouble J to bring the romance - discover the brands’ printed silks and canny referencing of vintage shapes now.

The Minimalist

Let the tailoring do the talking in high-end fabrics and low-key hues from The Row. The subtlety of Low Classic’s modern silhouettes makes them perfect for the minimalists out there. Joseph remains a British institution for a reason - the brand’s quietly luxurious finishes and fluid cuts form the background to any contemporary wardrobe.

The House Dress

Free yourself from your tracksuit bottoms and prepare for serene summer days in these casual, comfortable dresses. Perfect for running errands or meeting friends, we love A.P.C.’s chambray midi, YMC’s laid-back Garden dress and Masscob’s cocooning, tent shapes with this season’s pastel knits and utilitarian jackets.
