London-based Isa Arfen was launched by Serafina Sama, an Italian-born designer of highly desirable evening-wear with a touch of unconventionality. Overtly feminine and occasionally brash, the label draws on the glamour of the female figures key in Sama’s childhood. Previously outmoded fabrics are born anew, with silk taffeta and flocked tulle sculpted into boldly romantic silhouettes – ‘80s excess for a modern mind-set.
