To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the reopening of the William Morris Gallery, key archive objects from their collection that were significant to the lives of Morris, his family and his friends are being reimagined and produced by contemporary designers, artists and makers. A beautifully designed seasonal staple, this Water House mac has been meticulously crafted by Cawley Studio as part of our William and May Archive Collection.

Cawley Studio individually hand cuts and sews their garments in London, designing pieces to be functional, timeless and have a natural place in everyday life. This mac was inspired by an archive photograph of William Morris wearing a smock in c.1876, with founder Hannah Cawley adapting the silhouette to create a pleated oilskin coat accented at the cuffs with Liberty’s Willow print from our Art of Craft fabric collection. Get ready to revel in rainy days by adding this classic piece to your everyday edit.
