Word Board Tana Lawn™ Cotton
Detailed scans from kanji-engraved wooden skateboards by artist Daijiro Ohara appear transformed into an all-over design, its characters abstracted within a contemporary urban landscape. In order to highlight the original woodgrain texture, the design has been coloured in sophisticated tonal hues.
Our Tana Lawn™ cotton is a fabric built by obsession, perfected into a modern masterpiece of production through a bespoke process that has evolved over a century. Printed in our very own Liberty Printing Mill, located between Milan and Lake Como in northern Italy, Tana realises unmatchable fluidity with a silk-like touch, unique print quality and striking colour vibrancy. Machine washable and durable enough for daily wear, it can be used to create everything from simple separates to spectacular statement pieces.

From Japan With Love was created by Liberty Fabrics in collaboration with eight contemporary Japanese artists. The collection’s contributors worked across a wide range of graphic, textile and fine art mediums, creating visually stunning artworks that were transformed into fabric layouts by our in-house London design team – each finished print reflects a different influential facet of Japanese art and design. Daijiro Ohara is a Tokyo-based designer who works in a wide range of mediums, from typography and graphics to kinetic sculptures, sound performance and poetry – his work interrogates the relationship between things and places, working within the realms of all five senses to draw out new and undiscovered meaning.
