Victorian Silver Fob Watch
This late Victorian silver fob watch features a Byzantium-purple enamel dial - a highly collectible timepiece hand-sourced by the accessories experts at Designer Vintage.
This rare late Victorian silver, open-face fob watch showcases a radiating Byzantium-purple enamel dial with fine gilt spade hands, Roman numerals and dot minute markers. It is elegantly set in a cushioned circular case with a fine chased miniature interlocking dandelion design, gently convex crystal, polished orb and bow. The complementing back displays a floral and foliage garland design, with a scalloped frame and a central shield, on a fine stippled background. The fob watch can be opened from the back by depressing the orb button, revealing a secondary dust cover, both with original silver and registration marks. This fob watch is a daily wind, has been serviced and is in good working order. This gentlemanly item carries the silver hallmarks and registration number. A highly collectible piece, it’ll become a much-admired heirloom to be passed from generation to generation.
Please note: To wind the watch open the back cover, gently insert the key (number 3) in the top hole and rotate in a clockwise direction until you feel a tightening of the tension (which indicates an approach to a fully wound state). To set the time, gently insert the key in the central hole, and rotate in an anti-clockwise direction to the desired time. Always ensure hands are rotated forward, not backward.
