Floral Academy Silk Satin

Traditionally drawn, the largescale Floral Academy design was created in the Liberty Fabrics studio using a mix of watercolour paints and pencils. The print is inspired by flowers discovered in the beautiful grounds of Standen House and RHS Garden Wisley.

The design is printed by experts in Italy onto our fluid, reflective 16 momme Belgravia silk satin – a fabric prized for its lustrous drape and fluidity, along with its luminously high-shine surface. Construct it into eveningwear pieces such as sheath gowns, or use it to create opulently wearable daytime designs like wrap dresses and flowing shirting.

Created in the London design studio, the Private View collection for Autumn/Winter 2020 is split into four ‘gallery’ stories, reflecting Liberty’s long-standing commitment to art and design in all its forms. Each room of this imagined art gallery represents a different facet of the Liberty Fabrics story – from the Arts and Crafts heritage of the ‘Permanent Collection’ to the lushly detailed floral studies of the ‘Botanical Gallery’, the witty conversational pieces of ‘Curated Curiosities’ and the archival Asian and Middle Eastern-inspired textile designs of ‘Eastern Treasures’.
