Situated on a peninsula in the Kungsbacka Fjord on the Kattegat Coast, Tjolöholm Castle is hidden behind windswept cliffs and highland peaks - its gardens blending seamlessly into the adjoining archipelago countryside.

Last year, we received a surprise phone call - asking us to contribute to a Tjolöholm exhibition. Previously unaware of the castle's existence, we were fascinated to discover the exceptional Liberty décor hidden behind its grand doors.

Housed within the castle, the year-long 'Bohemian Luxury' exhibition will include a fashion display of Liberty print clothing from the era - loaned by the Design Museum - and a working shop of pieces that would have been found at Liberty London during the period. Completing the story, a Liberty Fabrics exhibition showing past and future designs along with extracts from our own archive will follow later in the year.

The exhibition, Bohemian Luxury: Liberty Style at Tjolöholm Castle, runs until 30 December 2019. Pick up Issue 01 of The Liberty Book to read all about the castle's pioneering owner, Blanche Dixon.
