Almost 150 years after our doors first opened, a voyage of discovery still awaits on the good ship Liberty - and never more so than at Christmas, when our store really comes to life. This season you can put your stamp on our story with the Christmas at Liberty colouring book, which tells the tale of the carved animals from the panels and pillars of our iconic building through illustrations, archival Liberty designs and bespoke poems by young talent, Gabrielle Djanogly.

The book shares a legend passed down through the generations at Liberty: when Yuletide comes, and the last light has been extinguished, the characters of our timber foundations awaken! Each one is unique - the cheeky monkey, the fair-feathered owl, the generous elephant, the frog on the stair, the hungry bear and the highly strung lion form the foundations of the Liberty building, and of the Liberty Christmas story itself. Helping and hindering the festive preparations with their cheeky goings-on, these carved animals make their way onto the page, bringing bright and colourful Christmas magic with them.
Exciting new name Gabrielle Djanogly has written seven poems that joyfully describe the antics of our magical friends at night. These accompany a range of delightful illustrations revolving around each unique member of the menagerie, created by the in-house design team on a backdrop of classic Liberty print motifs.
No longer just at night, the Liberty animals will come to life all across the store and online this festive period. Join us on our Christmas story and discover it for yourself - just watch out for the frog on the stair and the hungry bear!
