Lilly Lace is a Liberty London Fabric design created by Donna Wilson who runs a studio and workshop in London. Her colourful knitted designs have featured in numerous international publications and exhibitions. When Wilson was given the 'Alice in Wonderland' brief she set out to create something magical and nostalgic, with Alice’s little blue satin dress with a lace collar in mind. The end result is a beautiful print with an all-over intricate lace scalloped pattern. Tana Lawn cotton’s distinctive hand-feel and translucent softness make it a versatile favourite.
' "Can you row?'' the sheep asked, handing her a pair of knitting-needles as she spoke. ''Yes, a little - but not on land - and not with needles''- Alice was beginning to say, when suddenly the pair of needles turned into oars in her hands, and she found they were in a little boat, gliding along between the banks: so there was nothing for it but to do her best.' – Lewis Carroll
