Hair – Maarit Niemela

All rich textiles and decadent prints, The Belle Époque collection needs little further embellishment by way of beauty. Enter loosely tousled, perfectly undone hair. We take you behind the scenes of the shoot as hair stylist Maarit Niemela shares her tips for recreating the look.

On dry hair, spray Bumble & Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse, distributing the product evenly all over.

Quickly blow-dry the hair so the mousse is dry then, using a Mason and Pearson hairbrush, smooth out the ends.

Section the dry hair into a middle parting all the way from the forehead to the nape. Using a medium GHD curling tong, curl small sections to give the hair a lazy 'beachy’ wave. Take diagonal sections all the way to the crown and repeat the technique on both sides starting from the bottom working all the way to the top of the head.

Next, take your sections and roll the hair up and secure with long clips. Start from the sides and work around the head. This will help set the hair. Follow with a spritz of Bumble & Bumble Dry Oil Finishing Spray on each section to fix.

Leave the clips in for about 15 minutes, or until your makeup is complete. Remove the clips and shake out the sections of hair with your fingers. No brushing!

Voila! Bohemian beach waves. Use a tiny bit of Bumble & Bumble Brilliantine cream on the ends to smooth out any flyaway hairs.
