Ella and Libby was originally designed for the Liberty London fabric collection in the early 1930s, and features stylised bell flowers and violas. The viola flower’s link to love lies in Greek mythology - when Zeus’ wife Hera turned his mistress Io into a heifer, he gave her a field of violets to eat. Rossmore Cord is versatile and durable, making it ideal for use in structured garments like jackets and pinafore dresses.
Pricing: All fabrics are priced per metre length
Please note: All fabric orders are non-refundable
To create the prints within the Florals with Symbolic Meanings story, the Liberty London Fabrics team looked back to Victorian times, when intimacy was frowned upon and the language of flowers developed. A simple bloom can represent friendship, love, peace and tranquillity, yet in another context can evoke beauty and chaos.
